The Legend of the Manawatu River- Okatia. We painted the Manawatu Gorge . Okatia ( the Totora tree) uprooted himself and pushed himself through the rocks. This created the Manawatu River and he went over the land to the sea. The Manawatu River meets the sea at Foxton!
