In Room Four we have been practicing some of our Stage Five strategies to work out addition problems. Tav is demonstrating with Bailey how he uses doubles to work out questions.

Have a look at both videos. One video shows you how Tav has answered the questions, the other one shows you what sorts of cards Tav is looking at to give Bailey his answers.

Tav is taking one off the larger number, and adding it to the smaller number to make a double. He is naming the double he is going to use and then answering the question.
